Crusaders Swimmers enjoy Splash Gala

Crusaders held another of their popular Splash Galas on Saturday a Tiddenfoot and with much encouragement from the balcony, the 103 swimmers amassed  149 PB’s.

Points were awarded according to placings and the amount by which swimmers improved their PBs, which meant both the experienced and less experienced swimmers could compete on an equal level. Medals were awarded to the top three girl and boy swimmers in each age group.   

Junior Coach Barry Kent said “Our Splash Galas are always popular with our novice swimmers because it gives them their first taste of competitive swimming in a friendly environment and where there is lots of cheering and support. Our more experienced swimmers also like to test themselves against their team-mates so there is lots of friendly rivalry. I am especially proud of the 15t swimmers who took part in their first gala and especially the 7 swimmers who until now, have only swum in the small pool. I would also like to thank Malcolm and Alison Sedgewick for organising and running the gala.”
