Great Swims but Speeding Tickets in the Chiltern League

On Saturday evening, a team from Crusaders took part in Round 2 of the Chiltern League hosted by Dunstable Swimming Club. The squad achieved 37 personal bests including 24 individual personal bests.

1st places went to: Ladies Open 100m Breaststroke: Amelia Vincent, Ladies Open 100 Backstroke and 50m Fly: Lucy Dent, Girls 12/u 50m Fly: Lillie Molyneaux, Girls 10/u 4 x 25m Special Medley relay: Daisy Molyneaux, Finnley Whitbread, Lucy Gilroy, Tyla Danskin, Ladies Open 4x 50m F/S relay: Amelia Vincent, Lucy McMahon, Rosy Baker, Lucy Dent.

The 24 individual PB’s were achieve by: Isla Mae Bonthrone (3), Lillie Molyneaux (3), Alex Nilsen (3), Tom Henderson (3), Owen Drabwell (3), Lucy Gilroy (2), Paul Dunn (2), Anna Henderson (2), Daisy Molyneaux (2), Tyla Danskin (2), Rosy Baker (2), Alex Winter (2), Robert Harding, Sarah Marriott, Amelia Vincent, George Pepper, Daisy Jennings, Leonie Moore, Lucy Dent, Jay Denniston.

Team Captain Karen Boud said “It was a pleasure to see so many swimmers achieve personal bests, but unfortunately, some of them exceeded expectations and swam faster than the permitted maximum which meant we incurred 5 speeding tickets which cost us a potential 30 points. It’s always disappointing to lose points because of great swims, but it’s very rewarding to see the swimmers do so well. An additional 30 points would have made a big difference to the final result.”
