Crusaders Triumph in LBO Gala!

Local pride was at stake on Saturday night when local clubs competed for the much coveted LBO Trophy, hosted by Leighton Buzzard swimming club at Tiddenfoot.

With six teams competing, it was local clubs Crusaders, Leighton Buzzard and Dunstable who jockeyed for first place over the five rounds, with Crusaders finally finishing on top to receive the trophy.

Final competition results were:

Head Coach Adrian Smith said  “I would like to congratulate all the swimmers and say a big thank you to them for all their hard work in training and especially Nick Kent, Owen Drabwell, Isobel Jones, Finnley Whitbread and Héloїse Lee who had competed in the Maxwell Open and rushed back to join the rest of the team. It was a really exciting competition as the top three teams were close from the start but Crusaders managed to go the extra mile with two first places and three second places in the final round to finish 4 points ahead of Leighton Buzzard. Had we not picked up six speeding tickets, we could have finished with an even  wider margin! Well done team!”

Crusaders finished 1^st or 2^nd in 27of the 45 five events and 19 swimmers achieved 36 individual and relay personal bests:
